OUR HISTORY
A leader in professional janitorial products and equipment since 1975
John started his business from a small shed in his back yard
He had enough inventory space at the time to handle the needs of his customers who were mainly small-business contractors located on the south side of Great Slave Lake. After a couple of years, and continued growth, a section of a building in the industrial area of Hay River was rented. This enabled Wesclean to carry higher stock levels, and the opportunity to handle larger accounts became a reality.

In 1978, Cominco Mines of Pine Point came to Hay River and made Wesclean their exclusive supplier of janitorial supplies.
Wesclean’s growth was so substantial that in 1981 they found a need to expand further. A 2400 square foot warehouse was purchased in Hay River and a branch office was opened in Yellowknife to handle the increasing number of accounts with the mines, local businesses in Yellowknife and the surrounding area. Competition with southern companies was healthy but Wesclean wanted an extra edge. In 1983, a 1600 square foot addition to the Hay River warehouse created a manufacturing plant that; with the help of chemists from Montreal, produced 13 industrial products.
New owner Justin Rivera (a born & raised northerner) took over as owner of Wesclean Northern Sales in 2021.
He and the team at Wesclean look forward to serving the North for many years to come!
